Conductor

The Athens Master Chorale, located in Athens, Georgia, seeks a creative individual to serve as Conductor. Founded in January 1989, Athens Master Chorale is a non-profit, audition-based, volunteer concert choir with 50+ select members whose mission is to perform major choral works, shorter sacred and secular pieces, folk songs, and spirituals at the highest level of artistry. Athens Master Chorale typically presents two performances per year. Additional performances periodically have been offered at locations including Highlands, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; Carnegie Hall in New York; and the Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina.

The Conductor is responsible for programming concerts that will be challenging, interesting, and rewarding for singers and audiences, preparing the ensemble in rehearsals, facilitating the musical growth and development of the Chorale, and working with the board for the continued success of the group. A stipend of $1,500 per concert season will be offered.
