Associate Conductor/Talent Scout
Reports to: President and Artistic Director (PAD)
Hours: Full-time (40 hours), Monday-Thursday, must accommodate monthly Sunday afternoon rehearsal, monthly Saturday morning rehearsals, late afternoon and evening rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays and performance schedule

MISSION:
The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus provides exceptional music education for children of diverse backgrounds creating impactful choral performances.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary duties are to recruit singers, direct rehearsals, performances, and assist the PAD in planning and executing the concert season, recruitment and auditioning
In-school visits and auditions
Developing nurturing relationships with area schools and establishing rehearsal partnerships
Musical Director of JCC summer camps
Manage Choral Library
Monitor on-line music theory student progress
Adhere to and teach musical standards and concepts as defined by the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus.
Other duties depending on the applicant's skills and qualifications may include rehearsing and coaching soloists, preparing smaller groups for run-out concerts, and education and outreach projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Music, or Master’s preferred.
Kodaly informed methodology preferred.
Minimum two years conducting experience.
Previous experience working with children.
Upbeat, creative personality.
Proven superb verbal, interview, and written communication skills
Ability to think, plan, and execute resourcefully, with minimal supervision
Strong computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and internet savvy a must
Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds required
A passion for music and singing, and knowledge of arts management a plus
Valid driver’s license required
COMPENSATION:
Starting at $48,000
