Are you a leader dedicated to choral arts that can lead us to new artistic heights and stronger community engagement? If so, apply for this full-time leadership role in arts administration in Western NY.

The Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus is a nationally recognized symphonic chorus. We serve as the primary choral partner of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, produce a series of independent concerts annually, and have growing education and community programs.  Building on our success as the 2020 Grammy Award Winner for Best Choral Performance and a strong recovery from the pandemic, we are searching for an Executive Director with passion, vision, a strong musical sense, and arts administration and leadership skills to support the mission and our 140+ member chorus.

Position Details:

  • Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 annually commensurate with qualification and experience
  • Benefits: Health insurance reimbursement; paid vacation/holidays
  • Work arrangements: In-office work required with Buffalo, NY with hybrid schedule

Your Work:

  • Work with the Board President, Board of Directors, Music Director, staff and members to foster growth in alignment with our Strategic Pillars of Artistry, Stewardship and Community.
  • Oversee operations including hiring and management of staff.
  • Manage BPC finances in collaboration with the Treasurer and President/Board Chair.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive development plan, building on our strong portfolio of annual giving, government and corporate support and grants.
  • Elevate the level of community engagement and education across the diverse communities we serve.

  • A leader with demonstrated skills in arts management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to engage a diverse community of stakeholders
  • Experienced in nonprofit fundraising
  • Visionary, creative, passionate for the arts, and strong work ethic
  • Strong integrity to support the BPC’s values of artistry and community.
