Director of Vocal Choirs

Glenview Community Church, United Church of Christ, Glenview, IL seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated permanent, part-time Director of Vocal Choirs.  The GCC choral tradition steeped in high quality music, diverse styles and enthusiastic involvement seeks experienced candidate to direct the current 35-voice, all-volunteer choir in weekly rehearsals, church services and occasional special services and events, with a vision toward growth; encourage and develop creative choral outreach opportunities; enjoy working in collaboration with others; and demonstrate excellent choral conducting, communication and logistical skills. Candidates must be committed to serving God through the music of the church. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings 7:30-9:15pm. Sept-June;  warm-up rehearsals on Sunday mornings 45 min.-1 hour prior to service.

Weekly Service: Sunday morning, 10:00 a.m.

Hours: approx. 15-20 per week, 10 months per year.
