Director

Flint Hills Masterworks Chorale is seeking a Director to conduct weekly rehearsals, direct performances and help us share our love of choral music with the Manhattan community.

Responsibilities:
● Cultivate a welcoming, supportive atmosphere for Chorale members during weekly rehearsals
(Tuesday evenings) and performances
● Support Chorale members in improving their musical and vocal skills
● Select music for performances, in consultation with the Board
● Communicate with Chorale members about rehearsals and performances
● Plan and coordinate performances (two per year), including dates, venue selection, guest
musicians and other logistics
● Collaborate and communicate with rehearsal and performance accompanists
● Attend Board meetings (usually 3-4 each year)

Qualifications:
● Track record of success in conducting choral groups
● Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field is strongly preferred
● Positive references from choral groups conducted in the past

Compensation:
● Commensurate with experience, paid as an independent contractor
