The Chorus of Westerly seeks a dynamic and community-minded Community Coordinator to help expand our connection to audiences, partners, and participants across the region. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, bringing people together, and helping meaningful programs for all ages grow and take shape. The Community Coordinator will serve as a public-facing ambassador for the organization, cultivating partnerships with schools, senior centers, cultural organizations, and community groups while supporting programs and events that broaden access to choral music. Working closely with staff, artists, and community partners, this individual will play an important role in strengthening the Chorus’s presence and impact throughout Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut.
The position is a full-time position with a regular weekday schedule that will be adjusted as needed around Chorus of Westerly major functions and events (including some nights and weekends). The position is an exempt position that is benefits eligible (health, retirement). The starting annual salary for this position is $50,000.

Schedule
Throughout the year, the hours for the position will be on weekdays on a schedule that is mutually agreed upon with the Deputy Executive Director which will likely include at least two evenings a week to correspond with Chorus rehearsals. For Chorus concert weeks and/or special event weeks, the Community Coordinator will work an adjusted schedule during those times that will include required full day weekend work with several longer days. It is expected the Community Coordinator will attend the Chorus of Westerly’s Children’s Camp in August and be fully available to work every Chorus of Westerly concert, special event, and fundraiser.
Qualifications
The Community Coordinator will be an important member of the Chorus of Westerly’s team, supporting a wide range of projects across the organization. This role involves regular interaction with community members, partners, volunteers, and staff from diverse backgrounds, often in fast-paced environments such as concert weekends and major fundraising events. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who is comfortable leading, organizing, and motivating individuals and teams. They should be creative, proactive, and able to take initiative while also understanding the collaborative nature of a small to mid-sized nonprofit organization.
All members of the Chorus team contribute wherever needed, so flexibility and a willingness to assist with projects in both leadership and supportive roles are essential. The successful candidate will be able to follow direction from senior staff with care and attention to detail, adhere to established procedures and timelines, and confidently seek clarification when needed.
